Welcome to STROH Diamantwerkzeuge KG (Stroh Diamond Tools Ltd.)

History & Development

Founded in 1965 from the diamond grinding traditions of Germany’s Rhine-Main region, Stroh has evolved into a global industrial diamond tooling specialist. Headquartered in Bruchköbel, with production in Hünfeld and an international footprint (including Brazil), Stroh blends tradition with innovation.

Step into the world of STROH, a third-generation, medium-sized powerhouse headquartered in Bruchköbel near Frankfurt am Main, Germany, with a cutting-edge production facility in Hünfeld near Fulda, Germany, and a thriving overseas branch in Indaiatuba, Sao Paulo State, Brazil.

Born from a family-run diamond cutting legacy in the Rhine-Main region—renowned for its exceptional craftsmanship—STROH transformed in 1965, pivoting from jewellery diamonds to industrial diamond machining. This strategic shift ignited a journey of steady growth and diversification in tool offerings.

Our relentless investments and continuous process innovations have catapulted STROH Diamantwerkzeuge KG to the forefront of the global diamond tool industry. Today, we proudly hold a worldwide market leadership position for several of our cutting-edge products.

At Prativ Technology and Engineering, our mission is clear: to deliver top-tier products and ensure unparalleled customer satisfaction. With STROH Diamant’s triad of global production sites, we offer personalized customer support, combining the best of German engineering with stellar service to delight our clients.

Adapting to Evolving Industrial Challenges

Recognizing this imperative, STROH has engineered specialized resinoid, metal, and electroplated bonds. We continually collaborate with industry partners to pioneer bespoke solutions for new and emerging challenges.

Bonds Tailored for Performance

Resin Bonds STROH’s Diamond and CBN grinding wheels with resinoid bonds provide cooler grinding, ensuring a gentle touch on workpieces while enhancing abrasion performance.

Metal Bonds These robust bonds offer superior strength and durability, making STROH’s Diamond and CBN grinding wheels ideal for contour grinding and processing glass and ceramic materials.

Electroplated Bonds With grains that extend significantly from the bond, these bonds enhance abrasive power, perfect for machining profile tools and refurbishing used tools swiftly.

Grit Sizes

For optimal material removal, choose the largest grit size that meets your surface quality requirements. STROH’s Diamond and CBN grit sizes conform to the FEPA standard, ensuring precise abrasive specifications and leveraging the latest technological advancements.

Unparalleled Design Excellence

Stroh Diamant sets the benchmark in precision dressing technology with its expertly engineered diamond dresser rolls. Designed for high-performance grinding applications, these rolls combine advanced bonding techniques with meticulous geometry to deliver consistent, repeatable dressing across a wide range of wheel profiles.

  • CVD and Brazed Bonding Mastery: Stroh’s dresser rolls utilize Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) and brazing methods to anchor diamonds with exceptional stability and wear resistance. This ensures optimal diamond exposure and long tool life, even under demanding thermal and mechanical loads.
  • Profile Accuracy & Repeatability: Each roll is crafted with micron-level precision, enabling accurate form generation and consistent dressing results. Whether for straight, angular, or complex profiles, Stroh’s rolls maintain geometric integrity across cycles.
  • Robust Clamping & Interface Design: The accompanying holders and adapters are engineered for vibration-free mounting, with standardized interfaces that simplify integration into diverse spindle setups.
  • Application Versatility: From vitrified CBN wheels to resin-bonded abrasives, Stroh’s dresser rolls are tailored to meet the specific demands of surface, cylindrical, and centerless grinding operations.
  • Documentation & Selection Clarity: Stroh’s technical drawings and dimensional charts offer clear, actionable data—empowering engineers to select the right roll with confidence and speed.
  • Visual & Technical Clarity: Stroh’s technical documentation is a benchmark in clarity—each drawing is annotated with dimensional logic, tolerances, and fit types, enabling fast, error-free selection and integration.

From profile dressing to form generation, Stroh Diamant’s dresser rolls deliver unmatched consistency, longevity, and design sophistication—making them a trusted choice for precision grinding operations worldwide.

Chisel Diamond Tools

The chisel diamond tool is used for highest accurate dressing operations. Thoroughly selected diamonds, the right method of setting and special tooling machines guarantee the STROH-quality.

Needle Dressing Plates

This dressing tool is equipped with high quality needle diamonds that are set according to a specific scheme. They are used for larger discs and longer dressing paths and profiles.

Diamond Wheel Dresser

The diamonds on a wheel dresser are uniformly distributed around the circumference and arranged in rows. We use specially chosen natural diamonds, either needle-shaped or flat, which are secured with a special sintered bond. Once a surface of 5–6 mm has formed, the small wheel should be rotated slightly forward to expose fresh diamond points for continued effectiveness.

Benefits: Easy to use, noticeably less expensive than cut profile diamonds

Straight dressing: Multi-row wheel dresser

Profiling: Single-row wheel dresser

Dressing feed: 0,01–0,03 mm

Cooling: By using sufficient coolant longer tool life will be achieved!

Diamond Roller Truer

The roller truer, the latest development among rotating diamond dressers, is designed using precise CNC track control in grinding machines. Unlike roller dressers, roller truers achieve grinding wheel truing through the combined effect of their shape and CNC-controlled movement. The quality of the finished workpiece depends on both the roller truer’s precision and the CNC program.

Roller truers are particularly suited for flexible production of small batches with consistent repetition due to their CNC-based profile creation. Their versatility and universal applicability are key advantages, as seven standard types cover most needs. This makes their production efficient and cost-effective by eliminating the need for expensive custom designs.

STROH DIAMOND TOOLS has given you a glimpse of its capabilities—now it’s time to put them to the test. If you already have a drawing of the roller dresser or truer from a previous order, we can process your new order quickly.

If a drawing isn’t available, the in-house design team will assist with tool development by creating a roller dresser drawing based on the workpiece drawings you provide. Additionally, application engineers will use your detailed technical data, including information on the grinding process, grinding wheel, and grinding machine. These parameters ensure the creation of a tool design optimized for maximum process capability.

Each roller dresser or truer includes comprehensive quality control documentation that exceeds standard requirements. Along with the roller dresser drawing, we provide a profiled specimen made from hardened flat or cylindrical steel. Measurement data from this specimen are recorded in graphical or tabular form, allowing easy comparison with your specified nominal values.

You will benefit directly from STROH’s advanced data network, which supports every step of production. Central geometric data control ensures precision throughout the manufacturing process.
