Louver Damper

A damper having multiple blades which are mechanically linked so that they open or close simultaneously. The louver type of damper consists of several blades mounted parallel across a duct, with centrally pivoted shafts extending out through a frame and driven by a linkage. Louver Dampers can be given with parallel Blades or Opposed Blades

Qualities

The drive for a louver is simple, needing only 90° of motionturn for the actuator. The torque requirement is less in louver damper with comparison of the dampers life.Louver dampers are best to balance or control the flow of the Gas.

Application

Louver dampers are able to handle any type of Gas, Fly-ash & air flow application in the power plant.

Flap Dampers

Product Description

Flap dampers are employed for re-routing or total shutoff duct system. Their blades may be driven either directly or by the means of peripherally positioned shafts, with pivoting levers or with internal toggle levers. All types of actuators can be used with flap dampers.

With single seals of the nicroflex type, an area equivalent tightness of 99.98% is achieved, while with double sealing and seal air, they are 100% gas tight in terms of UV regulations. Depending on temperature and chemical composition of the gas, corrosion resistant stainless steel or coating can be embodied into the damper design.

Application

Process industries, FGD (Flue Gas De-sulfurization), SCR (Slow catalytic reactor) and GT plants

Guillotine Dampers

Product Description

The guillotine damper, or slide gate damper as it is sometimes called, has the main function of process isolation and isolation of equipment to permit inspection, maintenance, or repair. Guillotine dampers are specified for bypass ducts. Guillotine dampers are generally used when space limitations don't allow for longer damper casings. The isolators provide a 100% gas tight isolation in terms of UVV regulations. The sealing is hermetic and compares to that of a blind flange connection. The co-axially movable ceiling frame is retractable before the blade can be driven in and out of the duct. The ceiling frame can be hydraulically, pneumatically or electrically operated.

Guillotine dampers are mainly used to isolate one area of the installation in order to perform inspections and repairs (they are usually on/off type, either being completely open or completely closed, but they do not regulate flow) and are sometimes specified for bypass conduits. They provide 99% air tightness with a Metal to Metal step seat.

Qualities

Guillotine damper main function is to Isolate a duct section for process or maintenance purpose. Guillotine dampers achieve 100 % isolation with sealing arrangements. Guillotine dampers have robust rack &pinion or chain design arrangement.

Application

This damper type will often be used in coal fired power plants, where high ash accumulation has to be handled.

Double Louver Damper

Product Description

Double louver dampers are used for the gastight shut off of flue gas ducts. Seals in between the blades achieves a 100% gastight shut off (man safe).This type of damper provides an advantage over the technically simpler tandem damper as far as safety of operation is concerned. If one set of blades should fail for any reason, it is still possible to achieve a tightness of 99,98% with the remaining set. Double dampers can made of stainless steel or of mild steel with a chemically resistant coating.

Process industries - FGD, and GT plants.

Tandem dampers

Product Description

Tandem dampers are employed for the gastight shut off of flue gas ducts .In conjunction with special actuators unit's tandem dampers function as fast opening or closing emergency dampers.

Qualities

The Tandem Dampers are used in high temperature applications. Compared with louver dampers they have a narrower face to face width and require fewer mechanical parts. The lattice support design of the blades is given in Tandem dampers only. Equipped with NICROFLEX – HIPERFORM seals a 100% gastight shut off (man safe) is achieved.

Gas Turbine - Exhaust System

Exhaust gas systems for combined cycle power stations. Raumag – Janich undertakes to supply the complete exhaust gas system for combined cycle power stations, comprising:

  • Diverter

  • Bypass stack and stack support structure diffuser after turbine
  • Guillotine Damper ahead of steam generator (optional)
  • Flue gas duct ahead of steam generator (optional)

Advantages

For personnel safety and long product life, we design our Diverters, Elbows and Exhaust Stacks with cold shells, using a layer of ceramic fibre insulation between the inner stainless steel liner and outer duct surfaces. This ensures the equipment has an exterior temperature typically less than 50°C, even with exhaust gas temperatures is in excess of 600°C.
